Home broadband is covered by Openreach (who provide the cables) and then your ISP (who provide the data in the cables) your ISP should be able to see faults and get BT Openreach out to fix them, but most providers have so many customers they react (wait for customers to report a fault) before doing anything. Openreach aim to fix your service within 3 business days. So if you report it on Friday, they aim to have you back online by Tuesday 6pm. You can pay for enhanced care which reduces this and can even get Openreach to work weekends to fix your fault. Other options include bonding lines so you have two connections reducing the risk of total service loss. You can also have 3/4 or 5G backup, though if your whole street is out the mobile networks get overwhelmed quite quickly. Its well worth talking to us to understand what you need, as we become more and more reliant on our Internet connections, could you cope without it for 5 days....?
